Dr. Hurley grew up in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and moved to Texas with her family during high school as a result of the blue collar recession in the mid 1980s. The first in her family to go to college, she earned an Associates Degree from Richland Community College and a Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Texas at Dallas, where she graduated with highest honors. She then went on to Medical School, where she graduated with honors, participated in many leadership activities, and received the Outstanding Student in Family Medicine Award. She attended residency at the University of Texas Health Science Center in Tyler, TX, where she received the Academic Excellence Award. She stayed on staff there for two years before deciding to enter private practice at a clinic nearby in Whitehouse, TX. She learned early on that, with God-given effort and determination, one truly can achieve their full potential despite financial hardship.
Dr. Hurley sees patients of all ages, from newborns to the elderly, and provides routine preventative and sick visit services. She finds treatment of acute sick visit complaints and management of chronic diseases very rewarding. She is further concerned about the health of the community and the state, and serves as a member on the Northeast Texas Public Health District board and in several leadership roles within the Texas Academy of Family Physicians.
She has been married to her husband, her former high school sweetheart, since 1993. She fills her free time with church and family activities, and thoroughly enjoys moments spent with her two young children and her husband. She teaches an adult Sunday school class at Colonial Hills Baptist Church, where her husband serves as deacon.
